Ottawa County Committee to Discuss Flock Cameras After Proposal Raises Concerns

By Mary Ellen Murphy Oct 15, 2026 | 7:26 AM

Ottawa County, MI (WGHN) – At Ottawa County’s recent Board of Commissioners Planning and Policy meeting they briefly discussed a proposal by Commissioner Miedema immediately “pause” existing Flock contracts and to consider a Resolution in November that would remove all Flock cameras from use.

Sheriff Eric DeBoer:

The proposal did not come to a vote. The Planning and Policy Committee appeared to be in favor of asking Board Chair Josh Brugger to place the Flock issue (but not Commissioner Miedema’s draft Resolution) on the BOC’s October agenda for discussion. The Committee took no votes.

There has been damage to several flock cameras in Ottawa County as well as Kent County.
