Trinity Health Workers Strike

By Mary Ellen Murphy Aug 4, 2023 | 5:44 AM

Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – Unionized employees of Trinity Health Grand Haven are holding a one-day strike today, Aug. 4th.

The protest is due to  under staffing and low wages and other issues. Close to 200 workers represented by SEIU Healthcare Michigan are striking over what employees and union leaders describe as bad faith bargaining, insufficient wages, and attempts to undermine the union.

The unionized workers, whose contract expired Feb. 28, include diagnostic imaging techs, lab assistants, housekeepers, dietary workers, social workers, patient care associations, and medics, among other positions.

Trinity Health acquired North Ottawa Community Hospital in October 2022.
