(Gaylord, MI) – The National Weather Service is confirming three tornadoes hit northern Michigan during storms Monday. The strongest was an EF-1 tornado that started in Bellaire at 6:02 p.m. and had 90-mile-per-hour winds. An EF-0 tornado and tornadic waterspout hit in Antrim County over Torch Lake, starting at 5:50 p.m. with 75-mile-per-hour winds.
The third tornado was classified EF-U with unknown maximum wind speeds, starting in Grand Traverse County at 4:50 p.m.
