A message from Mary Ellen:
When we landed my instructor Keith said, “Thanks for jumping with me.” He thanked ME for jumping with him! My life was literally in his hands.
I met a woman who heard about the event in the dentist’s chair (yes that dentist in our bldg) and booked a jump. The interview with Reach for Recovery inspired her.
A complete stranger hugged me and congratulated me. This speaks to the community at Skydive Grand Haven and to the event Jump for Recovery.
So many stories and none of them are the same. I jumped for all my friends and family in recovery but especially for my friend Rob who we almost lost.
I didn’t want to leave Sunday after my jump and will jump again in a heartbeat. I was able to shove my lucky 30-year-old “women fly” hat in my shirt and I’m happy to say it survived the jump.
I am humbled by the strength and courage it takes to be in recovery and to sky dive.
