(Grand Rapids, MI) – From Holland to the Muskegon County line and east to Grand Rapids, the summer’s drought is the most significant since 2012. The U.S. Drought Monitor says that part of the area is in the “severe drought” category. Holland is over ten-inches behind normal for rainfall so far this year, with just 13-point-seven inches falling, and Grand Rapids is almost nine-inches lower than normal.

However, Battle Creek is almost six-inches above normal with 29-inches of rain this year, and Kalamazoo is four-tenths of an inch above normal.
