(Lansing, MI) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer has signed three bills to bring the total number of public acts enacted in 2025 up to nine. One of the bills allows distilleries and mixed-spirit manufacturers to have the same ability as wineries and breweries to use the same space and equipment to make their products and passed the House and Senate unanimously. The other two public acts will designate parts of US-131 for National Guard Sergeant Matthew Webber and Michigan State Police Trooper James Broland.
Webber died when deployed in Iraq, and Broland died when he was hit by a drunk driver.
