(Foster City, CA) – The FDA has approved what’s being hailed as the first HIV drug that offers 100-percent protection. It’s a twice-yearly injectable called lenacapavir and is marketed under the brand name Yeztugo. It was developed by California-based Gilead Sciences which says it’ll save millions of lives around the world.
Gilead also says it’ll provide affordable access to Yeztugo in the U.S. and beyond. The biotechnology company has signed royalty-free licensing agreements with six generic drug makers.
