(Norton Shores, MI) – An investigation is under way to find out what caused the nose gear on a small plane to fall off while it was making a landing at Muskegon County Airport yesterday. Fire crews responded to the scene after the single engine Grumman Cheetah plane landed and bounced, which caused the nose gear to fall off. The pilot was able to get out safely and no fuel was spilled during the landing.
Emergency operations plans were put into place at the airport during the landing.
