Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – Authorities said the fire inside the home was intentionally set after the mother and six children had already died. Investigators found no evidence that anyone other than Kristopher Karolkiewicz fired the gun and found no signs of a physical struggle.
Ottawa News Network reports that despite significant fire damage, detectives recovered documents from the home and are reviewing them for any notes or information that could help explain what happened. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office also said there were no previous 911 calls to the family’s home. Detectives continue to investigate the family’s personal and professional lives but say no motive has been identified.
