(GRAND HAVEN TOWNSHIP)-The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says the deaths of eight family members found inside a burning Grand Haven Township home Friday were the result of a murder-suicide.
Investigators identified the victims as 47-year-old Kristopher Karolkiewicz, his wife, 39-year-old Amanda, and their six children, aged 15, 12, three 11-year-olds, and a 5-year-old.
Autopsies showed all eight died from gunshot wounds. Amanda Karolkiewicz and the six children were confirmed as murder victims, while Kristopher Karolkiewicz’s death was confirmed as a suicide.
Investigators say there are no other suspects.
The Michigan State Police Arson Unit says the fire was deliberately started in several places inside the home after the shootings.
