(Tehran) – Leaders in Iran are saying the Republican defeat in the U.S. midterm elections shows Americans are “saying no to war.” The speaker of Iran’s parliament suggested today that American voters were punishing the Trump administration over the Iran war and its economic consequences. Other nations also called the election a referendum on the President, with French newspaper “Le Monde” calling the results a “stunning rebuke for Trump.”
Britain’s health minister called it a “seismic shift in domestic politics for the Americans,” but added that the U.S. relationship with the UK remains “unwavering.”
