(Detroit, MI) — Democratic Congresswoman Haley Stevens is endorsing Michigan Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers ahead of Tuesday’s midterms. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed addressed the announcement while speaking to reporters on Sunday.
Earlier on Sunday, Stevens endorsed Rogers after attending church together, calling her decision “personal and private”. Rogers called the announcement a statement about standing together against hate and the future of the state. This comes after Stevens clashed with El-Sayed over Israel and antisemitism claims in the battleground Senate race. It led to El-Sayed reportedly asking her to skip a campaign rally that she was supposed to attend today.
