Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – The Grand Haven City Council will hold a special work session tonight to discuss a proposed peaking power plant. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at City Hall, 519 Washington Ave.
At council’s regular meeting tonight, Grand Haven City Council is expected to withdraw its job offer to Eric Roberts for the city clerk position and select a new candidate during Monday night’s meeting. The council initially chose Roberts at its previous meeting. However, a subsequent background investigation and reference check conducted by the city’s human resources department found that he did not meet the city’s standards for the position.
Also on the agenda, council members will consider converting five transient boat slips at the municipal marina to seasonal slips for the 2027 season.
Other business includes an amendment to an agreement covering tree maintenance, construction observation and a drone survey at Grand Haven Memorial Airport.
The council will also consider expanding the Downtown Social District to include the area between Lynne Sherwood Waterfront Stadium and Snug Harbor.
The meeting is streamed on the City of Grand Haven’s Facebook page.
