(Kent County, MI) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer hit the campaign trail yesterday to support state Representative Carol Glanville’s bid to unseat Republican state Senator Mark Huizenga in Grand Rapids. Whitmer says she is pushing to protect the progress made since she became governor nearly eight years ago. Republicans also hit west Michigan yesterday.
U.S. Senate nominee Mike Rogers and Congressman John James, who is running for governor, campaigned with U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in Grand Rapids. Kennedy said everyone knows hospital food “is famously, notoriously not good food” and heavy on sugars, ultra-processed foods and fried foods. Corewell Health executive chef Mick Rickard called the recognition excellent and said people need to know where their food comes from.
Rickard suggests everyone visit a farmer’s market to enjoy what the state has to offer.
