(Grand Rapids, MI) – The two left lanes on southbound US-131 between Ann and Bridge streets in downtown Grand Rapids are closed until October 12th at the earliest. The Michigan Department of Transportation has started a one-million-dollar project that is causing big delays for drivers. Bridges are being repaired and new lights are being installed. MDOT spokesman John Richard says drivers need to plan ahead and expect longer drive times for the next several weeks.
Richard says they are hopeful the lights will be installed sooner than October 12th, but says the bridge work will last for at least another month.
