MEDC Laying Off Up To 15% Of Workforce

(Lansing, MI)  –  The Michigan Economic Development Corporation is laying off up to 15-percent of its workforce.  The layoffs include posts that are currently vacant amid funding restraints.  CEO Quentin Messer Jr. called it a “difficult decision to execute a workforce reduction” and says it’s “not a reflection of the important contributions of MEDC staff members.”

Instead, Messer says the decision was made due to “declining corporate revenue.”
