(Grand Rapids, MI) – The Detroit Tigers and Fifth Third Bancorp have scheduled an afternoon news conference today, presumably to reveal a new name for Comerica Park. Fifth Third’s purchase of Comerica is now complete. The Tigers moved into the downtown ballpark in 2000, after moving out of the old Tiger Stadium.
In other Tigers’ news, future Hall of Fame pitcher Justin Verlander will start Saturday afternoon for Detroit against the Pittsburgh Pirates, his final game before retirement.
