(Geneva) – The World Health Organization is warning of a healthcare worker shortage in the coming years. The organization published a workforce trends article that forecasts 67 countries will not have enough healthcare workers to meet their health needs by the year 2030. The report shows that, on average, nearly one in four doctors is older than 55 and will retire in the next decade.
That number is close to one in three doctors in high income countries.
