Survey Finds People Spending Less Time In Nature

(College Station, TX) — Americans need to get outside more to improve their health. That’s the conclusion of a new survey of how long people spend with Mother Nature. American Nature and Health Surveillance researchers talked with more than three-thousand people and found 45-percent of them reported spending under two hours a week in nature. That number was just 25-percent back in 2016. Researchers at Texas A&M hypothesize the drop in time outdoors over the last decade correlates to an increase in cellphone use and delivery service, resulting in more indoor time than ever.

A separate study shows spending two hours a week in nature can make a huge difference for mental and physical health.
