Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) -Love in Action is launching Community Haven, a new hub designed to help area residents facing housing challenges.
The organization is transforming its former warehouse at 1106 Fulton St. into a space where individuals and families can access housing assistance, meet with volunteers, take classes and connect with other local nonprofit organizations.
Executive Director Josh Bytwerk says it will be a outreach for those who have housing challenges:
Community Haven will also serve as a daytime warming and cooling center for people experiencing homelessness. Love in Action moved its donation processing and food distribution programs from the Fulton Street building to its new Storehouse Distribution Center at 323 N. Ferry St. last winter.
The new hub will build on Love in Action’s existing housing programs, including transitional shelters, income-based apartments and assistance with rent, utilities and mortgages.
A community open house is today from 9 to 10 a.m.
