(Detroit, MI) — Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed says he and his spokespeople are the only ones who speak for his campaign. It comes in response to backlash related to a comment made by influencer Hasan Piker in which he said if “Jews in America keep putting this idea out there that they are singularly invested in Israel, eventually someone’s going to come around and take action.”

El-Sayed was on Fox News Monday night, where he discussed a host of issues. Piker has campaigned in support of El-Sayed. His remark was in response to audio of Michigan House candidate Jeremy Moss, who is Jewish, allegedly saying that the main purpose of his campaign is to ensure the United States continues to support Israel. Moss said the audio was manipulated and unsourced, while El-Sayed said he’s committed to the safety of Jewish people in Michigan.
