Romulus BP Station Charing Almost $6-Per Gallon For Gas

(Romulus, MI)  –  The BP gas station in Romulus that’s located about a mile from Detroit Metropolitan Airport is charging drivers nearly six-dollars a gallon for regular unleaded gas despite a price gouging investigation by the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.  The price is nearly two-dollars a gallon more than all other stations in the area, but it’s also one of the last places someone returning a rental car to the airport can fill the tank before turning the vehicle back in.
Carolyn Adkisson, who was getting a half-tank of gas at the BP because she was on empty and didn’t have much of a choice.  BP corporate has said the prices charged are at the discretion of the independent owners of the gas stations.
