(Ann Arbor, MI) – Democrats held a town hall meeting in Ann Arbor last night to discuss voting, election security, absentee ballots, voter eligibility and more. Michigan Deputy Secretary of State Aghogho Edevbie told people they can trust the election results and says they are constantly working to prevent non-eligible people from voting.
The event also featured Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, Washtenaw County Clerk Larry Kestenbaum, and state lawmakers. Attorney General Dana Nessel announced charges last week against five non-U.S. citizens who cast a ballot in the 2024 general election in November. President Trump has called repeatedly for an FBI investigation into Michigan election officials.
Congresswoman Debbie Dingell says election workers are trained on how to respond to someone who is not eligible to vote trying to cast a ballot.
