(Muskegon Heights, MI) – Muskegon Heights’ fire chief and former interim city manager Shawnderick Roberson is charged with two counts of state tax evasion and one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Roberson was arraigned yesterday after turning himself in and losing his job with the city, nearly three weeks after state and federal investigators raided Muskegon Heights City Hall. Mayor Bonnie McGlothin said in a statement she and the city council “believe it is in the best interests of the City of Muskegon Heights to separate from Mr. Roberson at this time.”

City attorney Te Smith says formal action still needs to be taken by the city council to remove Roberson as a city employee.
