(Undated) – Former Vice President Kamala Harris is endorsing Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan’s upcoming election. Harris praised El-Sayed as a candidate focused on working families and said he is needed to help Democrats win control of the Senate. El-Sayed won the Democratic primary this week and will face Republican former Congressman Mike Rogers in November. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and other top Democrats have also backed El-Sayed following his primary victory.
The endorsement drew criticism from the Trump administration, which attacked Harris and El-Sayed’s progressive views.
