Michigan Cyclosporiasis Cases Top 12-Thousand

(Lansing, MI) – More than 12-thousand Michigan residents have been sickened in a cyclosporiasis outbreak linked to iceberg lettuce. State health officials say the case count reached 12-thousand-218 as of Wednesday, with two deaths reported among people who had serious underlying health conditions. The outbreak has been tied to lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms and sourced from central Mexico.

Health officials are urging people to wash produce carefully and seek medical care if they develop severe or ongoing diarrhea.
