Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – The annual Grand Haven-Spring Lake football rivalry will have a bigger purpose this year.
The Aug. 27 matchup will raise money for Bluebird Cancer Retreats, with proceeds supporting Bluebird Family Camp, a weekend retreat that gives families affected by cancer a chance to take a break from treatments and spend time together.
Organizers hope to raise $20,000 to sponsor one Family Camp weekend. As part of the fundraiser with Bucs Pride, community members can buy a Bluebird Family Camp yard sign for $10 to support either Grand Haven or Spring Lake. The community that sells the most signs will earn bragging rights before kickoff.
