(Detroit, MI) – Michigan State Police say troopers made 798 traffic stops in their one-day Move Over Law enforcement operation. It was held Monday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on highways around the state. Of the 798 stops, 127 were for not moving over for emergency vehicles that were stopped with their emergency lights flashing. The Move Over Law requires drivers to slow down about ten-miles-an-hour under the posted speed limit and move over a lane whenever possible for emergency vehicles.

Those are police, fire, ambulances, rescue, road service, and Michigan Department of Transportation safety service patrol vehicles.
