(Lansing, MI) – The Fiscal Year 2027 General Fund budget has been signed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer without ceremony in her office. She also avoided questions about an upcoming budget analysis from the Citizens Research Council of Michigan, which says the budget is between 600-to-900-million-dollars less that what is needed. Whitmer said in Grand Rapids that the budget is balanced, she is proud of it, and they “had to make a lot of hard decisions.”
She added the budget cuts taxes, will create jobs through investments, and will fix the roads.
