Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – The Grand Haven Area Public Schools Board of Education voted unanimously, 7-0, Monday evening to place a bond proposal on the November 3, 2026 ballot.
The vote followed a presentation from district administration outlining the bond proposal, which represents Phase 1 of the district’s long-term Facilities Master Plan. The presentation also reviewed the nearly two years of planning, research and community engagement leading up to the proposal.
That work has included the development of the district’s Strategic Plan, the establishment of a long-term Facilities Master Plan, and nearly 200 community engagement touchpoints through surveys, community conversations, key communicator groups and other opportunities for feedback.

If approved by voters, the proposal would fund major renovations at Ferry, Peach Plains and Rosy Mound elementary schools, including air conditioning, building system upgrades, gym and kitchen improvements, and full interior renovations to create updated learning spaces designed to support today’s educational needs. Classroom additions would also be included at Ferry and Rosy Mound elementary schools.
The proposal also includes investments in technology, safety and security, playgrounds, school buses and musical instruments across the district.
The proposal calls for a 1.95-mill increase and represents the first phase of the district’s long-term Facilities Master Plan.
