Court Of Appeals Reverses Convictions Of Two In Whitmer Kidnapping Plot

(Lansing, MI) – The convictions of two men in the Governor Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot have been reversed by the Michigan Court of Appeals. Judges vacated the convictions yesterday of Pete Musico and Paul Bellar a few weeks after the court also tossed the conviction of Joseph Morrison. The three were found guilty of providing material support for an act of terrorism, but the appeals court ruled Michigan’s Anti-terrorism Act doesn’t consider kidnapping a terrorist act.

Attorney General Dana Nessel has begun the process to appeal what she called the “disastrous decision” in Morrison’s case and will do the same for Musico and Bellar.
