Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – Crews with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completed a one-day project at the end of the Grand Haven South Pierhead, placing about 300 tons of large stone.
The pier was temporarily closed to pedestrians from the east side of the outer lighthouse to the end of the pier while work was underway. The project did not impact the Grand Haven lighthouse’s scheduled tour hours.
Dave Karpin is with the Lighthouse Conservancy says there have been many marriage proposals at the lighthouse:
The lighthouse remains open to visitors. There is now swag you can purchase such as hats, tee shirts and sweatshirts to benefit the Grand Haven Lighthouse Conservancy. Join 92.1 WGHN for a live broadcast Thursday from 2-6 p.m. on our 70th birthday!
