(Lansing, MI) – The state House and Senate approved the Fiscal Year 2027 budget Friday morning, with the Senate passing the omnibus budget around 8 a.m. and the House passing it just before 9 a.m. The votes came about nearly 21-hours after the House session started on Thursday.
Representative Joe Tate, who is a former House Speaker, said it was likely the first time in his time in Lansing that the budget was passed in the daytime.
