Fourth Inmate At Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility Dies

(Ypsilanti, MI) – A fourth inmate at Michigan’s Women’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility in Washtenaw County has died in less than two months. Sixty-two-year-old Dalephenia Jones was serving a life sentence and died yesterday from cardiac arrest at Trinity Health Hospital. Jones had been hospitalized since June 19th and had several chronic medical conditions.

She was being treated under a chronic care plan, and the Michigan Department of Corrections says the chronic medical conditions increased her risk of a cardiac event.
