Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – The American Legion in Grand Haven is reopening just two weeks after a burst pipe caused extensive damage throughout the building.

Post Commander Walt Pedersen said the post received approval from the health inspector Wednesday and will reopen Thursday, July 2, at 1 p.m.

Commander Walt Pedersen and Commander Elect Cindy Wierenga:

The damaged section of the downstairs lounge will remain closed while repairs continue, but the bar area, outdoor deck, and patios will be open to members and guests.

The kitchen is expected to remain closed for several more weeks as restoration work continues, with hopes of reopening before the Coast Guard Festival.
