(Holland, MI) – U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. discussed nutrition and food accessibility Thursday when he and Congressman Bill Huizenga toured Kids Food Basket Farm in Holland. The two took part in a roundtable discussion and both said nutrition for children needs to be improved. Kennedy said when President Trump took office in 2025, average medical students were only receiving two hours of nutrition training and 80-percent of doctors said they didn’t feel competent to offer advice on the topic.
He says two medical schools in Michigan have signed on to increase that training, and four others have been asked to.
