(Lansing, MI) – The Michigan Department of Treasury will have an updated phone system installed next month. Treasury officials told the House Oversight Committee in a Tuesday hearing that people are having trouble getting in touch with them due to the outdated system that can’t handle peak demand and kicks callers off. The new system has been in place for non-residential tax matters.
Michigan Tax Administration Services Bureau director Katina Litterini says callers won’t get disconnected, the upgraded system has an “enhanced queue facilitation,” and offers a callback feature.
