(Clinton Township, MI) – U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says the federal government will offer over 700-million-dollars for mental health, homelessness, and addiction. Kennedy made the announcement after a roundtable discussion yesterday at Easterseals MORC in Clinton Township.
He says the U.S. is facing two interconnected crises with drug-related deaths killing over a million Americans since 2000 and 770-thousand people currently being homeless. Kennedy was addicted to heroin himself for 14 years and says “recovery is possible” and treatment works.
