Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – Dog waste bag dispensers are being installed in downtown Grand Haven after business owners raised concerns about pet waste being left on sidewalks.
Business owners say the problem has become more noticeable during the busy summer season as more visitors bring their dogs downtown. In some cases, waste left on sidewalks has been tracked into stores by customers.
Fox 17 reports that Grand Haven Main Street officials said the dispensers will be installed throughout the downtown district by the end of the week. The stations are intended to encourage pet owners to clean up after their dogs and help keep downtown sidewalks and storefronts clean.
