(Undated) – The merger of Fifth Third Bank and Comerica Bank will result in 75 branches in Michigan closing this summer. Fifty-five are former Comerica Bank branches and 20 are Fifth Third locations. Even with the closures, officials say customers will have access to more sites than they did with either bank before the merger closed in February.
Data from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation says last summer, there were 163 Fifth Third branches in Michigan and 143 Comerica branches, and there will be 227 locations in Michigan when the closures are complete.
