Robinson Twp., MI (WGHN) – A 29-year-old Muskegon woman suffered serious injuries in a crash involving a semi-truck Wednesday afternoon in Robinson Township. The crash happened around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Lake Michigan Drive (M-45) and 120th Avenue, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said the woman was driving a 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse north on 120th Avenue when she reportedly ran a red light at M-45. Her vehicle was then struck by a westbound Kenworth semi-truck hauling two dump trailers that had the green light.

Police said the woman was not believed to be wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. She was airlifted by AeroMed to Corwell Health in Grand Rapids for advanced medical treatment.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

M-45 was closed for several hours following the crash and reopened around 3:15 p.m.
