(Royal Oak, MI) — A U.S. Marine veteran has completed a 500-mile walk from St. Ignace to Royal Oak, and finished on Memorial Day. Lawrence Miller also walked 200-miles in 12-days last year and did his second Trek for Vets this year.
Miller says the walk is an attempt to shine a spotlight on the issue of veterans’ mental health. He says he went through the darkest period of his life a number of years ago and credits a handful of guys helping him get through it. Miller says he spoke to at least 500-people every day on this year’s journey.
