32-Year-Old Jenison Motorcyclist Killed in Georgetown Township Crash

Georgetown Twp., MI (WGHN) –  A 32-year-old man from Jenison died Friday morning following a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV in Georgetown Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the crash happened around 8:50 a.m. at the intersection of Cottonwood Drive and Summerset Drive. Investigators believe the motorcyclist was turning onto Cottonwood Drive when he entered the path of a northbound SUV.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash.

The SUV driver, a 21-year-old man from Grand Rapids, and one passenger suffered injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. Another passenger in the SUV was not injured.

Authorities temporarily closed Cottonwood Drive between Baldwin Street and Bauer Road while crews responded to the scene. The roadway has since reopened, and the crash remains under investigation.
