Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – A traffic signal replacement project at Beechtree Street and Robbins Road in Grand Haven is now expected to finish about a week later than planned.

City officials said the new mast arms and poles needed extra factory work and are expected to ship sometime this week. After delivery, contractors will begin installing the new equipment and complete as much work as possible before the holiday weekend.

The old traffic signals and related equipment are scheduled to be removed next week, with final restoration work planned for the week of June 1.

Drivers are being asked to use caution and remain alert while crews continue working at the intersection.

Most of the project is being paid for through a federal Carbon Reduction Program grant, which is providing $326,000. The city’s portion of the cost is $106,849, approved by City Council earlier this year.
