Ottawa County, MI (WGHN) – Grand Haven City Council will hear several presentations and discuss multiple development projects during meetings scheduled for Monday, May 18, at City Hall.
The regular council meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at 519 Washington Ave. Among the presentations, Grand Haven Area Public Schools Superintendent Kristin Perkowski will speak about the future of GHAPS, while Grand Haven Department of Public Safety Director Nichole Hudson will discuss the city’s efforts to become a HEARTSafe Community. Council members will also recognize National Public Works Week with a proclamation.
Council is also expected to consider a grant agreement for the Flahive Boating Access Site project and a water and sewer extension agreement involving Grand Haven Charter Township.
Following the regular meeting, council will hold a 7 p.m. work session to receive updates from Lakewood Construction and Capstone Real Estate regarding redevelopment of the former Board of Light and Power Diesel Plant building.
Earlier in the day, the Economic Development Corporation/Brownfield Redevelopment Authority will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. to discuss the proposed South Village development project at 724 Robbins Road. Find the agenda here.
The Ferrysburg City Council will consider a wide range of projects and city business during its meeting Monday, May 18, at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 17520 Ridge Ave.
Road and infrastructure improvements are also on the agenda, including the Pine Street repaving project and upgrades planned for Bayberry Drive and West Spring Lake Road.
The meeting will also include a public hearing on the city budget, along with discussion on a personnel manual amendment, authorization of the summer tax levy and a resolution related to sewer and water rates.
In addition, council members will hold a work session to discuss the possibility of a dedicated parks and recreation millage.
