(Lansing, MI) – Planned Parenthood of Michigan is asking Governor Gretchen Whitmer for a five-million-dollar allocation for “stabilization to preserve existing patient care infrastructure.” Whitmer’s office says the funding has to come from the Legislature and not her office. PPMI president and CEO Paula Thornton Greear says patients in the state “are not a football to be tossed around from branch to branch.” The organization says they are facing “a critical funding gap that we cannot bridge alone.”

PPMI says that is due to federal changes to Medicaid and Title 10 dollars.
