Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – This year marks TEN YEARS of Empty the Shelters, TEN YEARS of partnership with Cathy Bissell’s BISSELL Pet Foundation!

Over the last decade:
🐾 Big Lake Humane Society has adopted 727 pets through Empty the Shelters events.
🐾 That is nearly TWO FULL YEARS worth of adoptions sponsored through this incredible program.
🐾 Empty the Shelters has grown from just a handful of participating shelters, like ours, to more than 900 shelters nationwide.
🐾 Together, nearly 400,000 pets have found homes through this life-changing initiative since 2016.
That number is hard to even comprehend.
📣To celebrate this incredible milestone, they are officially kicking off our 10th anniversary Empty the Shelters event with some REALLY fun promotions, activities, featured pets and special surprises throughout the week, ending with a throwback TWO-DAY ADOPTION EVENT on May 15th and 16th!📣
