(Presque Isle County, MI) – The wildfire burning roughly 190 acres of state-managed land in Presque Isle County is 90-percent contained. That was as of 4 p.m. Monday according to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Incident Management Team. The DNR and local fire departments have been battling the flames after the fire started near the southeast end of the Tomahawk Lake Flooding near Atlanta and burned debris from the 2025 ice storm.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
