GeorgeTown Twp., MI (WGHN) – An 82-year-old man from Hudsonville died Thursday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle while crossing Van Buren Street in Georgetown Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said the man was crossing the road to reach a mailbox on the north side of the street around 2:53 p.m. when he was struck by a 2001 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 16-year-old from Hudsonville. A 14-year-old passenger was also inside the vehicle.
Emergency crews attempted lifesaving measures at the scene, but the man later died from his injuries. The two teenagers were not injured. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
