Ottawa, Muskegon County Voters Approve School, Local Millages in Special Election

Grand Haven, MI (WGHN) – Voters across Ottawa and Muskegon counties approved a series of school and local funding proposals in Tuesday’s special election, with all precincts reporting.

In Grand Haven, the school district’s operating millage renewal passed with just over 71 percent of the vote. Spring Lake schools saw a similar result, with about 72 percent voting yes. West Ottawa and Zeeland Public Schools also secured renewals, with support ranging from 60 to 66 percent.

In Muskegon County, Ravenna Public Schools voters approved a bond proposal with nearly 64 percent support. Holland Public Schools’ sinking fund millage passed with about 67 percent voting yes.

Coopersville schools narrowly approved their operating millage renewal, with just under 53 percent support.

Voters in Zeeland Charter Township approved a fire department compensation millage by a wide margin, more than 74 percent.

And the Macatawa Area Express transportation millage passed with just over 70 percent of the vote.
